Remake #ScottishLabour to be again the great Party of #SocialJustice

These are my views as a member of the Labour party in Scotland since 1976 in Edinburgh, Midlothian and Fife.

 ———-
As I said on the Great Debate on BBC Scotland today, Labour in Scotland has for long required to regain its position as a the  party of Social Justice and the party of Vision and shed its shocking habits of being the purveyers of local authority bureaucracy
 ———-
This requires a fundamental root and branch debate over the summer followed by a leadership contest in early autumn.
 ———-
The party has never looked for years at its basic values and ethics instead seeking organisational solutions and until it does that it will continue to be irrelevent to the majority of Scottish people
 ———-
It is also obvious that for electoral reasons as well as basic values the party in Scotland must become independent of the national party. This decision must also be made in the autumn.
 ———-
As great nephew of Clem Attlee I wonder what he would have thought of our current lack of vision and inspired leadership and urge again that we focus on and push forward the fundamental issues of social justice at all levels of society in Scotland.
